Update on how to post a comment

Despite my best intentions, posting on this site is still difficult. One of my original hopes when setting up the blog was that it would enable me to become more technically literate... so I (actually my sister) have investigated the problem and I (she) has come up with a solution, or at least a way around third party cookies, which seem to be the problem.

First up, womanwithoutacervix is hosted by blogspot, which in turn is hosted by Google. Naturally they want you to belong to them so, if you don't have a Google account or a gmail account, or any of the other blogger identities (Wordpress etc) the site won't recognise and validate you. No matter what words of wisdom you write, delivery won't happen. This is what third party cookies facilitate.

If you are minded, you can read about third party cookies and related problems on blogger/blogspot here

I have also changed the comment form, which will should help you to be able to post. When posting, there are two ways around the comment problem. The first is to sign up for a gmail account, but really why would you, just to post on my blog?? The other is to choose the identity of 'Anonymous' but to write your name in the text - as I have in the comment below, selflessly using myself as an example.

If this doesn't work and you are still determined to post your thoughts - and good on you! - the only other thing you can do is to check if you have disabled cookies on your computer. The place to look is your browser, your security software or your windows firewall settings. Basically the comment form needs cookies to work, so if cookies are disabled nothing will happen.

I hope this has made sense. If it hasn't, blame my sister....

I'm impressed. If I asked my sister (bless her) about posts and cookies I'd get a packet of jaffa cakes in the mail!

Having to bother about cookies and other such technical delights whilst dealing with cancer just isn't fair. But well done to your sister (although as a semi-techie person and someone who has her own blog hosted by Wordpress, I didn't need her help!).

I'm a patient at the Marsden too, and think they're absolutely fantastic. Currently "resting" from chemo, I have my next CT scan on the 3rd Feb, so may be back in their capable hands for more poison to be administered. I've been following your blog, and having been through 6 rounds of gemcitabine/docetaxal, know only too well what you're going through. Keep up the good work!
Kind regards
Sue

I continue to bask in the joys of French Champagne and Australian seafood. Sending enormous love from where u lot sent all your convicts, most who now have morphed into politicians! You're only half way Love, a fabulous 50 to come! Murray xxxxx
